Established in February 2006, the Office for Industry and Community Engagement (OICE) is physically situated at the Footscray Park campus, but its role is to work across Victoria University and externally with the University’s community.

Established as an initiative of the Engagement Functional Plan which is one of seven functional plans cascading from the University’s Strategic Plan.

The Office has been created to:

  • be a clearing house and data bank for VU engagement work
  • broker and manage new relationships in liaison with other parts of the university
  • coordinate internal and external activities such as engagement days
  • coordinate key external roles of VU such as Campus Heads and Relationship Managers
  • be a contact point for similar offices in other universities
  • be a strategic driver of Engagement Plan and related policies
  • evaluator of external engagement and
  • undertake special projects as required
