Community Grants
Working in partnership with the National Europe Centre at ANU, the University received funding from the Jean Monnet Scheme on European Integration to create the European Diaspora Research Network. Researchers in Australia and Europe will study migrant diasporas and the role of migration in economic development.
Dr Susan Feldman of VU’s Alma Unit for Research on Ageing and Dr Claire Hanlon of the School of Human Movement, Recreation and Performance won a nationally competitive grant of $130,000 from the Department of Veterans’ Affairs, the Repatriation Commission and the Military Rehabilitation and Compensation Commission to undertake research on the experiences of female war veterans.
ICEPA was awarded the tender for a Commonwealth Department of Transport and Regional Services study on community diversity and economic development in regional Australia. The institute’s Horn of Africa Employment Relocation Community Building Program in Swan Hill received a $200,000 Community Support Grant from the Department of Victorian Communities.
