Building Relationships to Strengthen VU
Staff from across Victoria University have worked hard to build relationships with industry, community and government. In some cases the immediate outcome has been a direct benefit to a specific course, in other cases it has assisted an important community project or resulted in a scholarship for a VU student. Each of the relationships has resulted in a benefit to VU, and together, the sum of the benefits is impressive.
VU is fortunate to benefit from this support and we are also fortunate that we have staff who take the time to build the relationships. Each individual effort strengthens our standing in the community and helps build our reputation in the sector. Every positive interaction with a member of VU’s staff develops respect for the skills and expertise we can offer. And, as we enter an exciting new phase of our development these relationships will become even more important.
It is important that as an institution VU recognises the commitment and skills of the staff who have performed so well in this regard.
In August, the Vice Chancellor asked to be advised of the names of staff who have played a key role in securing support for VU or who have shown an outstanding commitment to building and using external links and relationships to benefit VU. The response was overwhelming and more than a hundred staff were identified.
Those staff were subsequently invited by the Vice Chancellor to attend a celebratory function on Thursday 20 September and the City Queen Campus.
The following list includes all the names of those who were recognised with a brief explanation of the work they have done.
